The research into the 69eme history is on-going.  There are however various 19th and 20th century publications that have come
to light that start to form a picture of the regiment in the Napoleonic period and the exploits of the 69eme voltigeur companies
and their leaders. We are surprised by the amount of source material on the 69eme written by their commanders and soldiers.
Acts of outstanding courage at Elchingen, Fort Scharnitz are well documented by the memoirs of personages and outside of the
regiment.  Several of these memoirs enable us to pull together and detail the exact  and complete picture of the voltigeur of the
69eme.   We would like to hear if you have found source material relevant to 69eme.  Currently looking at 69eme prisoners at
Norman Cross and Dorchester Castle, three prisoners in Norman Cross and now we are looking through POW lists of
Portchester Castle etc., at Kew, we have found 50 prisoners, including one officer so far.
Christopher has either a hard or soft copy of all these publications listed below and should you wish to discuss the detail of a
publication or obtain a copy, feel free to contact him at caporalchristophe@69eme.net.
